Lido's EIFS can be attached to an approved substrate with an air/moisture or an air vapour/moisture barrier. Components include expanded polystyrene insulation board, a fibreglass reinforced base coat and a textured acrylic finish. A variety of finished textures, styles and colours are available to replicate the look of stucco, brick, limestone and granite. An architect's dream material, EIFS can be shaped to create distinctive architectural details such as reveals, cornice work and quoins to enhance the look of the project. In fact, the design options with EIFS are virtually endless.
Plus, EIFS can reduce construction costs while shaving time off the construction schedule. In a recent case study by a major architectural firm, over 10% of shell construction costs were saved on a building designed for masonry by substituting with EIFS. The exact look of the project was maintained, while the use of EIFS meant the building could be completed two months earlier. EIFS can also be used to renovate other materials such as brick and stucco without changing the look and without having to remove and dispose of the original cladding.
